Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 2026.
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, so that something can be remembered between page loads. Some do useful mechanical work; others exist to count and profile. Here is what this site uses.
Strictly necessary. These keep the site functioning: they remember your cookie choice so the banner does not reappear on every page, and they hold basic session state. They carry no information about you personally and cannot be switched off without breaking the behavior they support.
Analytics. These help us count visits and understand which pages get read, which get abandoned, and which search terms bring people here. The data is aggregated.
We use it to decide what to write next and which open questions to chase, and for nothing else.
Preferences. If you change something on the site that ought to persist, such as a display option, that choice may be stored locally in your browser rather than sent to us.
Third parties. Analytics is provided by an external service, which sets its own cookies under its own policy. Where a page carries an advertiser-supported form or a partner link, that partner may set cookies when you interact with it, and the page tells you so at the point of interaction.
We do not run display advertising networks on this site.
Turning them off. Every major browser lets you block cookies entirely, block third-party cookies only, or delete what has already been stored, usually under a Privacy or Security settings heading. Blocking analytics cookies costs you nothing here: the pages, tables and calculators all work without them.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies means the banner will ask you again on every visit.
